A-IGEco and its member networks are leading three key actions to strengthen research, innovation, and knowledge transfer in ecological engineering. These initiatives, guided by the Ecological Engineering Roadmap – Horizon 2030 (FdRIGE) and A-IGEco’s internal strategy, aim to accelerate innovation, structure scientific cooperation, and leverage research results to support the ecological transition.
Discover how these concrete actions can transform research into operational solutions for territories.
Three actions to boost research and innovation
Develop demonstrators and action research programs
Objective :
- Participate in Priority Research Programs and Equipment (PEPR) to fund innovative projects.
- Strengthen links with OFB demonstration sites and workshop areas to test and validate solutions in real-world conditions.
- Create a dedicated working group (WG) to strengthen collaboration between researchers, land managers and businesses.
Pilots: OFB, AFIE, UPGE (member networks of A-IGEco)
Framework: FdRIGE (Axis 4)
→ Why is this important?
These demonstrators make it possible to scientifically validate ecological engineering solutions, to promote the transfer of knowledge to field actors, and to accelerate innovation in response to the challenges of ecosystem restoration and adaptation to climate change.
Create a joint investment fund or a scientific cooperation foundation
Objective :
- Establish a joint investment fund or a scientific cooperation foundation to finance applied research projects and technological innovations.
- Create a dedicated working group (WG) to define governance arrangements and investment priorities.
Pilot : A-IGEco
Framework: FdRIGE (Axis 4)
→ What does it consist of?
This fund will provide financial support for research initiatives, technological development, and cooperation between public, private, and academic stakeholders. It aims to remove financial barriers to innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of the sector.
Developing innovation, technology transfer and national and international valorization
Objective :
- Supporting innovation and technology transfer in the field of ecological engineering.
- Promote projects at the national and international level, particularly through a dedicated competitiveness cluster.
- Create a feasibility note to assess the relevance and viability of innovative projects.
Pilot : A-IGEco
Cadre : FdRIGE et Stratégie interne A-IGEco
→ The impact?
This initiative aims to accelerate the implementation of innovations, strengthen the competitiveness of the French sector, and promote solutions developed in France internationally. It relies on a collaborative approach between researchers, businesses, and institutions to ensure robust projects tailored to local needs.
Why are these actions essential?
