The Federation of Actors in Ecological Engineering and Engineering (A-IGÉco) and its partners are launching the sixth edition of the National Ecological Engineering Prize and are associating the French Association for Soil Studies (AFES) for the 2026 edition with a special prize for “Ecological Soil Engineering”.

Pre-application to be completed from April 1st to May 15th and if your project is eligible, application file to be completed by June 15th.

Why this price ?

Addressing current challenges in preserving biodiversity and responding to climate change requires the implementation of and mobilization around ecological engineering actions.

Indeed, ecological engineering and ecological engineering enable, in particular, the conservation of ecosystems, the restoration of degraded environments and the optimization of functions provided by these ecosystems, which are at the heart of Nature-based Solutions (NbS).

In this context, A-IGÉco and the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB), in partnership with the Directorate of Water and Biodiversity of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Biodiversity and International Negotiations on Climate and Nature, invite all stakeholders in ecological engineering to compete in the 6th edition of the National Ecological Engineering Prize.

Who can apply for which categories?

This prize is aimed at all of the following private and public stakeholders  : project owner, design office, project manager, construction company, research organization, association, natural area manager, local authority, …

It rewards projects falling into these 7 categories:

d

Natural area management

Restoration of terrestrial environments

Restoration of continental and wetland aquatic environments

Restoration of coastal and marine environments

Experimentation and applied research

The price of adaptability: bouncing back well after failure

For this 6th edition, the co-organizers are partnering with the French Association for Soil Studies (AFES) for the special prize ” Ecological engineering of soils  “!

How to apply  ?

First, you simply need to fill out the pre-application form (10 questions on 2 pages)!

Then, in a second stage, if the application is eligible, the candidates will receive the regulations and the complete application form to fill out (40 questions in 10 pages) and return before June 15, 2026.

DEADLINE FOR PRE-APPLICATIONS: May 15, 2026

Notification of results to project leaders will be made in October for a prize presentation and presentation of the winners in the autumn (date and place to be defined).

Reminders about the National Ecological Engineering Prize

Organised since 2014, the National Ecological Engineering Prize aims to promote exemplary ecological engineering projects in their design, implementation or integration into the local context, and to show how ecological engineering can address many operational and global challenges.

This prize, through the winning projects, helps to share good practices in favor of biodiversity and to promote the development of this emerging sector.

The objective of the Prize  : To promote ecological engineering PROJECTS carried out and implemented by several private or public actors and meeting the principles of ecological engineering.

The Prize aims to reward the collective work of actors who have led and completed exemplary ecological engineering projects.

One of these actors will apply on behalf of all the partners involved in the project, who will be rewarded collectively.

The prizes are awarded by a jury made up of around thirty scientific experts and practitioners representing the diversity of public and private actors in ecological engineering and engineering.
