A-IGEco and its member networks support local authorities, public institutions, and other project owners in integrating biodiversity and ecological engineering. Five key actions, supported by the Roadmap for Ecological Engineering – Horizon 2030 (FdRIGE) and the LIFE BIODIV’France project, are being implemented to address these challenges.

Discover how these concrete initiatives can support you, from planning to the completion of your projects.

Five actions to integrate biodiversity into your projects

Objective: To systematically integrate ecological engineering into the projects of elected officials, from planning to construction.

Pilots: DGALN (TU sub-directorate), co-pilot A-IGÉCO

Framework: FdRIGE (Axis 1)

→ Why is this important?

This action aims to strengthen the promotion and availability of ecological engineering and engineering to communities, by being part of the service offering to territories and by sharing operational tools and feedback.
(Action in progress)

Objective: To facilitate public procurement in ecological engineering and engineering through a practical toolkit.

Pilots: UPGE, UNEP (member networks of A-IGÉCO)

Framework: FdRIGE (Axis 1) and LIFE BIODIV’France

→ What does it consist of?

The toolkit will include fact sheets from the guide “Public Procurement in France,” project catalogs, case studies, the National Directory of Engineering and Ecological Engineering Companies, and a presentation on cost ratios. It will be designed to meet the needs of project owners in mainland France and its overseas territories.
(Action in progress)

Objective: To create a community of exchange among the winners of the National Ecological Engineering Prize to share best practices.

Pilot : A-IGÉCO

Framework: FdRIGE (Axis 1)

→ The impact?

This initiative helps to mobilize the winners to share their technical and operational experiences with other project owners, and to increase the visibility of nature-based solutions.
(Action in progress)

Objective: To help buyers identify qualified service providers via the National Directory of Engineering and Ecological Engineering Companies.

Pilot : A-IGÉCO

Framework: FdRIGE (Axis 1) and A-IGEco Internal Strategy

Comment ça marche ?

The directory allows project owners to quickly find competent design, consulting, construction and supplier companies throughout France, and to ensure the quality of projects.
(Action in progress)

Objective: To promote the economic viability of nature-based solutions and ecological engineering.

Pilot : A-IGÉCO

Framework: FdRIGE (Axis 1)

→ Why is this crucial?

This initiative aims to demonstrate that ecological approaches are not only beneficial for the environment, but also profitable and sustainable for local areas, based on studies and concrete feedback.
(Initiative to be launched)

Why are these actions essential?

These five levers aim to:

  • Accelerate the integration of ecological engineering into planning and public procurement.
  • Ensuring the quality of projects and the skills development of stakeholders.
  • Structuring the sector to meet the challenges of nature restoration and territorial resilience.
